Question 4: What is library 2.0

The key characteristics of Library 2.0 are:

• Browser + Web 2.0 Applications + Connectivity = Full-featured OPAC- This allows library users to use library services in a more modern way which focuses on user-centred participation.
  
• Harness the library user in both design and implementation of services- This makes resources and services more accessible to all clients with different sorts of needs.
  
• Library users should be able to craft and modify library provided services- This ensures that library users get the very best out of the library's resources and services and ensures that library materials and resources are most up to date.
  
• Harvest and integrate ideas and products from peripheral fields into library service models- This allows the library to work with industries closely related to libraries to compare ideas and products which may help library users in their library experience
  
• Continue to examine and improve services and be willing to replace them at any time with newer and better services. This allows the library to work out what is currently working or not working and purchase additional material to improve services in the library both for staff and clients.
